Overview

I led the design and development of two self-paced sexual harassment prevention courses—one for supervisors and one for employees—each meeting California compliance requirements.

The modules took an immersive approach, placing learners in a simulated onboarding experience at a new company, where they navigated workplace scenarios designed to build awareness, model appropriate behavior, and prevent harassment.

My Role

My role spanned project management, instructional design, video production, and eLearning development.

Project Management

  • Oversaw timelines, scope, and stakeholder communications to ensure compliance goals were met.
  • Collaborated with legal and HR teams to validate content accuracy.

Instructional Design

  • Designed the course flow to balance engagement and legal requirements.
  • Wrote learning objectives, scripted scenarios, and built knowledge checks to track progress.

Video Production

  • Developed short videos using Adobe Premiere.
  • Led scriptwriting, voiceover direction, and post-production editing.

eLearning Development

  • Built the course in Articulate Storyline with embedded interactivity.
  • Ensured accessibility, responsiveness, and LMS compatibility for seamless delivery.

Process

I followed the ADDIE instructional design framework to ensure a structured, learner-centered approach for both the supervisor and employee training tracks:

1. Analysis

  • Collaborated with legal and HR experts to identify compliance requirements, audience needs, and organizational goals.
  • Reviewed evolving state mandates and conducted stakeholder interviews to surface key content priorities.

2. Design

  • Wrote video scripts in English and translated them to Spanish using inclusive, culturally responsive language.
  • Developed storyboards and visual treatments for animated segments, incorporating real-world scenarios and tone-appropriate messaging.

3. Development

  • Produced short animated videos in Adobe After Effects with character-based motion graphics and bilingual voiceover narration.
  • Built self-paced modules in Articulate Rise, embedding time-tracking features, interactive assessments, and progress checkpoints to meet the 2-hour training requirement.

4. Implementation

  • Deployed separate courses for supervisors and employees via the client’s LMS, ensuring accessibility and compatibility across devices.
  • Provided support materials for HR teams to track completion and ensure regulatory compliance.

5. Evaluation

  • Collected learner feedback and usage analytics to assess engagement and knowledge retention.
  • Iterated on course elements post-launch to enhance clarity, pacing, and scenario effectiveness.
