I led the design and development of the Affirming Care Upstander Module, an interactive eLearning experience and quiz that enables UCLA Health employees to earn a Progress Flag badge to add to their uniforms—signaling to patients their knowledge and commitment to fostering a safe, affirming environment for LGBTQ+ staff, patients, and families.
I was responsible for the end-to-end development of the module and Upstander badge quiz, including instructional design, visual design, and eLearning development. I also collaborated with DEI stakeholders to align the content with UCLA Health’s inclusivity goals and accurately represent the diverse LGBTQ+ community.

The iterative design process, using action mapping, prototyping, and continuous refinement, ensured a highly engaging and practical learning experience. This involved:
Gathering project requirements, defining scope and budget, identifying stakeholders, and creating a Project Charter.
Developing a Design Document outlining learning outcomes and instructional strategies, creating a Style Guide with mockups, and prototyping key interactive and UI elements.
Building the module and module assets with various software, ensuring accessibility and responsiveness, incorporating stakeholder feedback, and refining interactions and visuals.
Deploying the module to UCLA Health’s Cornerstone LMS, conducting quality control reviews, and documenting future updates.
