“We created this series to provide a shared educational experience for all employees. Learning together is powerful. Empowering the collective UCLA workforce to advance an inclusive environment and promote dignity is transformational.” ~ Anna Spain Bradley, Vice Chancellor of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (UCLA)
“For the past 9 months, Veronica has tirelessly project managed the architecture, design, and accessibility for the two trainings…[created] tools to organize workflows, facilitated weekly meetings with our campus partners, and supported her team to meet benchmarks and deadlines. [She] also provided expert builds in Articulate Rise and Storyline. These modules would not have been produced without the expertise of this fantastic team. Their work has been recognized by campus leadership and stands as a tribute to all of us at UCLA Extension.” ~ Leah Vriesman, Associate Dean of Academic & Faculty Affairs
I led the development of UCLA’s first EDI Education Series in partnership with the Vice Chancellor for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion and the UCLA EDI Office. This included the development of two modules:
The modules were developed for all UCLA employees—including staff, faculty, and academic personnel—to provide foundational knowledge and practical skills that empower employees to recognize discrimination, uphold UCLA’s community values, and actively foster a more inclusive and respectful campus environment.
My role encompassed project leadership, graphic design, and eLearning development.
Managed all aspects of the project, including:
Developed the project’s visual identity, including:
Created multimedia elements, including:
Through realistic, interactive exercises grounded in UCLA-specific scenarios, learners are guided to understand institutional values, recognize discrimination, and practice inclusive behaviors.
The goal of both modules was to celebrate UCLA’s diverse communities and amplify underrepresented voices across campus. To ensure the experience was both impactful and actionable, we incorporated:
Diverse Representation of UCLA gender identities and roles via images and visuals.
Personal stories around gender identity shared by members of the UCLA community.
Interactive knowledge checks promoting retention of content and self-reflection.
Decision-based scenarios guiding learners through realistic campus interactions.
Character voiceovers to create a more immersive learning experience.
Integrated resources to support continued learning & exploration.
Here are a few samples from the project.
